A versatile singer
Seema Kasthuri is a Carnatic Musician from Bangalore, India now settled in St.Louis MO, USA.
Seema Kasthuri’s musical education started at the tender age of 8 when her parents recognized her talent to copy any music. She learnt Carnatic music in her home town Hassan under the tutelage of Guru Sharada and Vidwan K.R Venkatesh. She performed with her Guru in and around her hometown and has been part of several programs produced for AIR. When her parents moved to Bangalore, she continued her education with Vid. Chintalapalli Ramesh. Guru Ramesh encouraged Seema to perform at places such as Malur and Sri Veeranjaneya sannidhi in Bangalore
Her music education continued later, with Guru Dr. Nagamani Srinath who inspires her every single day with her vast experience in Raga, Manodharma and Saahithya bhaava. Seeme is fortunate to have accompanied Guru Nagamani at concerts held in Kansas City, St.Louis Music festival, Philadelphia etc.
Seema is also ever grateful for Ustad Imrat Khan who is the maestro Surbahaar and Sitar performer living in St.Louis for his guidance in Hindustani music. Under Ustadji’s guidance Seema found a new meaning for “Sur”.
Blessed with such wonderful teachers and great learning and performing experience, Seema herself teaches Carnatic classical music at Soorya School of Music to students of all ages, in St. Louis MO. Seema’s stuents have performed at places such as Chicago, Cleveland and several venues in St.Louis.
Seema has performed solo concerts all over the US in places such as Chicago Lemont temple, Kansas city Hindu temple, Atlanta, LA, Springfield IL, Carbondale, Philadelphia Triveni to name a few.
Seema is also a bharatanatyam dancer and along with her husband Guru Prasanna Kasthuri has performed several dance performances. The highlight of the couple was the story of Krishna and Radha’s relationship called “Gokula Nirgamana” which was portrayed as a musical where the couple danced to their own tunes. This production caught the attention of several rasikas all over US. Seema also sings for Bharatanatyam dance arangetram and programs as lead vocalist. Visit us at online casino spiele.
Seema’s first devotional music album was released in 2002 and her new contemporary album Nireeksha was released by well-known scholars and Musicians in August 2013 in Bangalore and has received reviews by popular Sandalwood Music Director Mano Murthy.
